Grandmothers

Started thinking about how wonderful my grandmothers were to me...

Granny-She would play card games like WAR and we would watch Bonanza and Wagon Train on TV.
14 years ago Thanksgiving day she went to be home with God of course it was a devastation I was 15 or 16? It didnt hit me at first, then it did when the funeral came. She was a wonderful person, very sweet and she loved her grandchildren dearly and all of her family. I miss her dearly!

Mimi- I was older and I remember it like it was yesterday, Mimi was the first ones to hold me for the first time when I was born. She had to care for me for 3 days as my mom had to stay in the hosptial. Mimi was the best cook I always wanted to go to her house for dinner or lunch! I remember going to Mimi's house in Haltom City, Texas for visits and Shelbie would go with me sometimes and we would stay the night. Mim would have us breakfast ready for us to eat! I also remember the day that I found out that after they had did surgery on Mim's lung they didnt get all the cancer. It was my brother's college graduation, everyone knew except me because they knew it would hurt me dearly, Mimi sat me down and mom and Uncle Russ were all in the room, and Mim told me the news that she would have to have a MAJOR surgery by taking her lung out. I cried..... I didnt want to lose my Mimi... I loved her SO dearly, I would call her for anything at all she would always make me feel better about things, the conversation would start with me crying then she would calm me down and tell me its gonna be alright. I think about my grandmothers alot especially Mimi, i called my mom yesterday upset and in tears because my job was stressing me out SO much. Mom calmed me down and I just remember her telling me its alright and just calm down. I told her I wish Mim was here so I can hear Mim say that to me.

It has been almost 3 year now since Mimi been gone.... I saw her for the last time for about 4 days I remember I had to come back to Mississippi on that Monday it was early in the morning I wanted to tell her bye and that I loved her. She was a little asleep then she opened her eyes and saw me and smiled at me.... I knew in my heart that was the last time I was gonna see my Mimi alive..... that thursday i called to speak to her she could barely talk she had so much fluid in her lungs. My mom told me she thinks this it I told Mimi that I loved her for the last time. The next morning Mom called and told me the news... I SO didnt want to believe it... I miss Mimi so much....... I wish that she was here to see me happy like the way I am now and have been the past 1 year and a half.... Thank you Granny and Mimi for being such WONDERFUL grandmothers to me I miss you both DEARLY.....

Love you both,
Heather
